About the Homes in Lafayette Square:
Few neighborhoods say historic quite the way Lafayette Square does. Development began here in the mid-1800s—and then re-started in the early 1900s following a devastating tornado in 1896. The community was nearly destroyed again by rapid commercial development and, later, by the Great Depression. Fortunately, community-wide restoration efforts in the 1970s brought new life to the area, and renovation continues today.
