The majority of homes in Bridgeton were built during the city’s residential housing boom of the 1960s, with hundreds more constructed during the 70s and 80s. While the plumbing in many of these homes may seem to be in good condition, major systems could still require attention—particularly galvanized steel and brass supply pipes designed to last 20-40 years.
Maplewood Plumbing & Sewer has been inspecting, repairing, and replacing worn or damaged plumbing and updating fixtures in Bridgeton homes since 1985.
If you’re a Bridgeton resident with plumbing issues or in need of plumbing services, you can trust the plumbing experts at Maplewood Plumbing and Sewer.

Kitchen plumbing
Kitchens are the heart of our homes and their plumbing needs to be regularly maintained to keep them running smoothly. Our expert kitchen plumbing services include installation, repair and replacement of kitchen valves and fixtures, water lines, faucets, ice maker lines, garbage disposals, and water restoration.
Basement plumbing
Basements, cellars and crawl spaces are important to your home’s overall plumbing. Our expert basement plumbing services include basement dig outs, rough-ins for bathroom additions, and installation, repair and replacement of sump pumps, basement floor drains, water supply lines, and main sewer lines.
Bathroom plumbing
Maplewood Plumbing & Sewer has been “In the Loo” for 40 years! Since 1985, we’ve been trusted to take care of Bridgeton’s’ bathroom plumbing needs. We are experts in water pressure restoration, installation and repair services for showers, tubs and toilets.
Laundry Room plumbing
Regardless of where your washer and dryer exist—whether in a dedicated space, or in a closet or basement—laundry room plumbing components must be maintained to continue working properly. Maplewood Plumbing and Sewer’s experts specialize in repairing, replacing, and installing laundry room standpipes, utility sinks and laundry boxes to keep the laundry plumbing system in your Richmond Heights home functioning as it should.
Outdoor plumbing
The outdoor plumbing system of your Bridgeton home includes landscape drains, outdoor sewer clean outs, sprinkler systems, gutter systems and downspouts, spigots and hoses. The best way to avoid plumbing problems that require emergency services is to properly maintain each of these components. It’s also good for your wallet and your peace of mind!
Water Heater installation
Water enters your home at about 50 degrees Fahrenheit, but the average shower temperature is 105-degrees Fahrenheit. It’s your water heater’s job to heat your water, and it works hard to do so. The typical lifespan of a traditional water heater is 8-12 years, so eventually you’ll be in the market for a new one. Our experts can tell you whether you need water heater repair or replacement.
Remodeling
Even the handiest Do-It-Yourself’er knows that when it comes to bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms and basements, most home remodeling projects require the help of a professional plumber. If you’ve taken on a remodeling project, count on the experts at Maplewood Plumbing to handle the plumbing installation so that you don’t have to worry about problems down the road.

Whether you need to schedule a gas line installation, gas pipe repairs or your annual gas line inspection, Maplewood Plumbing can help.
Our trusted plumbing experts can help you think through the costs and benefits of gas and will work with you to develop a project plan, make the right decisions about materials and installation and help you understand the risks of using natural gas.
Pipe Replacement
All the plumbing in your home begins and ends at your street. The plumbing in the street is owned by the water district but when it comes to the pipes on your property, it’s up to you to repair or replace them as needed. If your Bridgeton home has outdated pipes or a sewer line leak, count on the experts at Maplewood Plumbing for pipe repair or replacement services.

Bridgeton Sewer Lateral Program
A residential sewer lateral is the sewer pipe that runs from your home’s foundation to the sewer main. The sewer pipes inside your home can become clogged or crack due to tree roots or other issues. In much the same way, the main sewer drain that leads all the way to MSD can break or clog, and that can be expensive to fix (upwards of $15k).
Thankfully, the community of Bridgeton does have a Sewer Lateral Repair Program to offset the costs of repairing a broken sewer lateral.
If you experience slow drains, foul odors, or low water pressure, you could have a clogged drain pipe. Knowing where the blockage is located is important, because if the clog is somewhere along the sewer lateral, the City of Bridgeton’s Sewer Lateral Repair Program may cover a portion of the repair costs!
To qualify for reimbursement, homeowners must pay the annual lateral assessment fee on their real property tax bill each year and pay to have the lateral cleaned. If this does not remove the blockage, a camera inspection is required to identify the problem. Maplewood Plumbing’s camera drain inspection shows you exactly where the problem is. If we find a break or collapse in the lateral, you can file a claim with the City.
